Glutathione (GSH) is an endogenous tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, joined by a γ-peptide linkage. In laboratory research it is used to study intracellular redox homeostasis, thiol–disulfide exchange chemistry, reactive-oxygen-species scavenging, and glutathione-S-transferase detoxification pathways in controlled in-vitro and cell-model systems.
